5th Grade End of the Year fun!

Dear Fifth Grade parents,


Congratulations on the accomplishments of your child throughout the first six years of school. As we prepare to wind down the elementary career of these children, many celebrations have been planned for the end of the year. Please mark your calendars for the following events:


*Tuesday, May 26thRobotics Day. Cubelets and Legos will be used for students to create robots that solve problems.


*Wednesday, May 27thBoard Games and Movie Day. Electronic games are welcomed, however students are responsible for their own devices. (B.Y.O.D. form is required for electronic devices).


*Thursday, May 28th – EPCOT Field Trip. Class shirts must be worn the day of the trip (will be given out the day prior). Students need to arrive at the front car loop by 6:45 am, and must be picked up by 6:45 p.m. ** If your student will not be attending the trip, we do ask for a note informing us of whether they will be attending school the day of the trip or not.


*Friday, May 29thBBQ Day. Students will enjoy a movie in the morning, and then an afternoon barbecue with their friends.


*Monday, June 1st – Galactica and Class Parties. Please bring in one snack or drink to share with the class. 5th Grade students vs. Staff Galactica Game at 10:00am. Please make sure students wear appropriate attire (shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, and a water bottle are recommended). Parents are welcomed to come watch, but please be sure to sign in at the front office to receive a visitor’s badge.


*Tuesday, June 2ndAutograph Day. Students will sign yearbooks. In the afternoon, we will be walking over to Ridgewood to practice for the Promotion Ceremony.


*Wednesday, June 3rd – Promotion ceremony will be held in Ridgewood’s gymnasium. Presentation of the students and awards will begin at 10:30 A.M. More information regarding the promotion ceremony will be sent home closer to the date.



*Participation in these activities is contingent upon appropriate behavior that will be monitored through the check system. A check will be given, as well as an intervention, for every inappropriate behavior. An activity will be lost if a student receives 3 checks during this last quarter.
